In recent years, long exposure photography has gained significant popularity in landscape photography, primarily due to the advent of extreme ND filters. This trend has allowed photographers to capture stunning and unique images of landscapes in ways that were not so easily achievable before. The technique can be used to simplify busy compositions, streak unatractive skies and even hide crowds of people in urban environments.
This one day workshop will be based in and around Swanage, where locations such as Swanage Pier, Peveril Point, and the wooden groynes on the beach are all superb subjects to learn the essentials of this technique.
We will complete our day with an editing session at my print studio in Swanage where you will have the opportunity to have an A3 print of your favourite image to take home with you.

My workshops aim to enhance your photographic skills and creative vision. I cover a wide range of topics, including exposure control, mastering manual mode, using filters effectively (including long exposures), and interpreting landscapes for compelling compositions. You can also learn about shooting techniques such as focus stacking, panorama stitching and multiple exposures. As a photographer who prints, colour management and the fundamentals of a calibrated digital workflow are integral to my teaching. Post-processing tuition incorporates both the technical and practical functions within Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as realising the creative potential for your images.
Gift vouchers have no expiry date. The recipient simply needs to contact me to book their tuition.
